What is Calypso Pay?

Calypso Pay is a Canadian based payment gateway. The service enables businesses to accept, send, and manage cryptocurrency transactions securely and efficiently. It provides tools like invoices, mass payouts, recurring payments and salary payroll and support for multiple cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum.

What is Calypso Group?

Calypso Group is a group of companies:

  • Calypso Pay, a crypto processing platform that lets merchants receive payments in crypto from their clients and pay their partners and workers swiftly with minimal commissions.

  • Watchblock, a KYT / AML SaaS platform for tracing and monitoring transactions. Watchblock helps customers ensure their incoming payments did not originate in dark markets or crypto mixers. Watchblock is integrated with multiple KYC providers to ensure you get up-to-date information and stay compliant.

  • WatchData provides Web3 developers with a suite of tools, enhanced APIs, and superior infrastructure to drastically simplify building blockchain apps. The platform acts as the internal tooling for Calypso Group and is available to enterprise customers.

How do I get a merchant account with Calypso Pay?

What is the onboarding procedure?

The onboarding procedure includes passing KYB verification, signing all necessary documents and integration. We have a dedicated team that supports the client throughout the entire process of connection.

What is KYB?

KYB (Know Your Business) is a merchant onboarding process. Verification of legal information to comply with regulatory requirements.

Do you charge for KYB?

No, unlike some competitors, we do not charge an onboarding fee when connecting with us.

What is KYT?

KYT (Know Your Transaction) is transaction monitoring to identify suspicious transactions. It checks the date and amount of the transaction, the sender and recipient's addresses, the blockchain networks. Any merchant can use KYT module as a part of Calypso Pay platform.

Do you provide a personal account?

No, Calypso Pay works exclusively with businesses. But any merchant can create and manage personal accounts for their employers.

How many accounts can I register?

In most cases, you will register your company as a merchant. Then you can have different accounts associated with this company. For example, if you have a group of companies, you will be able to manage their finances separately under one account.

Payments

How do I select what coins to accept?

The coins with a stable exchange rate usually are the best choice. We would suggest considering stablecoins – like USDC – due to the lowest network fee.

Which tokens does Calypso Pay support?

We support all major coins and tokens: BTC, USDC, TRX, TON, DAI, MATIC, BNB, XDG and LTC. We integrate new tokens on merchants requests. Please note that we do not cooperate in USDT in the territory of Canada.

Calypso Pay may at its own discretion restrict the applicability of certain tokens and/or stablecoins in accordance with virtual currencies and/or securities legislation and regulations of Canadian authorities.

How can I convert my incoming payment in crypto to Dollars or Euros?

We work under a Canadian MSB (Money Service Business) financial license, provided by the FINTRAC regulator. We are authorized to operate legally with virtual currencies as well as fiat money.

Can my clients top up with a debit card?

We have on-ramp solution which allows your clients to pay in fiat. The funds will be deposited in crypto.

Do you charge any fee?

Yes, the fees depends on turnover and the products the merchant uses. Our rates are very flexible and always tailored individually for each merchant. Please get in touch with sales team to get your special offer.

Is it secure to pay with Calypso Pay?

Yes, Calypso Pay ensures security through encryption, two-factor authentication (2FA), and regular audits. It integrates advanced security services like Crystal, Watchblock, and Watchdata to enhance transaction safety and regulatory compliance throughout the payment process.

How do you provide AML / KYT?

In Calypso Pay we use our own product Watchblock integrated with multiple KYC providers to ensure you get up-to-date information and stay compliant.

I have an issue with paying on your merchant's website. What should I do?

If you mean you've underpaid or overpaid on merchant's invoice, here’s how to proceed.

As a payment provider, Calypso Pay works exclusively with businesses. Therefore, you should first directly contact the support team of website you’ve used.

Please reach out to the website support team ASAP. They should then submit a request to us on your behalf if needed. Be sure to confirm if their policies cover your specific situation, as each business manages overpayments and underpayments according to its own guidelines.
